We understand that seeking help for mental health concerns takes courage, which is why we've designed our services to meet you exactly where you are. From crisis intervention to ongoing therapy, medication management to specialized programs for various ages and conditions, SIH Behavioral Health provides personalized treatment plans that evolve with your needs. Our integrated approach ensures seamless coordination with your primary care provider and other medical services to support your overall well-being, helping you feel empowered to live your best life in every way.

Having a mental health condition (or working toward a diagnosis) doesn't mean there's something wrong with who you are. These conditions happen because of real differences in how your brain works. Just like how some people have heart conditions or diabetes, mental health conditions are about your body - specifically your brain.

Reducing the stigma around mental health is essential to this process. By increasing understanding and awareness, families and communities can better recognize when someone needs help and connect them with critical – and often life-saving – care. Education breaks down barriers and opens the door to support, making it easier for everyone to seek the help they deserve without fear or shame.

In these moments, safety and stability come first. Our team provides fast evaluations, crisis support, medication management and therapeutic care to help people feel more grounded and begin the path to recovery. SIH Mulberry Center Expansion

Building a Foundation for Healing Close to Home

The SIH Mulberry Center expansion represents a transformative investment in mental health care for southern Illinois, addressing a critical gap that currently forces patients to travel hundreds of miles for psychiatric treatment. As the region's only non-state-operated, nonprofit inpatient mental health facility, the center's 9,900-square-foot addition will increase capacity by forty percent. This expansion will also provide a specialized unit for patients who need both medical and psychiatric treatment at the same time.

This $50 million project will create a modern healing environment with private rooms and better therapeutic spaces while keeping families together during treatment. With groundbreaking set for June 24, 2025, the SIH Mulberry Center will ensure that when you or someone you care about needs mental health care, quality treatment will be available right here in southern Illinois.

Outpatient Behavioral Health Services

At SIH, we understand that each person's experience with mental health is unique, which is why we offer personalized outpatient treatment plans that may include individual therapy, counseling, medication management or a combination of approaches. Our evidence-based treatments are designed to help you develop coping skills, address underlying causes and build resilience for long-term wellness.
